Love Minneapolis

On Saturday September 13th, Love Minneapolis will be partnering with Cityview Performing Arts Magnet School in north Minneapolis.

Cityview is a K-8 school that The Sanctuary CDC has been partnering with in numerous ways. This fall we will be providing schools supplies, coats bundles and tutors through our Sanctuary in the Schools program and will be offering The Hip Hop Academy after school for middle school students.

Love Minneapolis is one more great way to build upon our strong relationship with this great northside school! 

On September 13th we will be helping Cityview get ready for the upcoming school year and fall programs by assisting them with various projects like cleaning, organizing gardening and grounds clean up and more!

You will get dirty so dress appropriately!

On Saturday August 9th, Love Minneapolis will be partnering with Plymouth Christian Youth Center in north Minneapolis.

Plymouth Christian Youth Center, located in North Minneapolis, is a nonprofit human service organization currently serving youth and families through three divisions: Education, Community Programs, and Community Development.   

The mission of Plymouth Christian Youth Center is to enrich the skills, prospects, and spirit of North Minneapolis area youth and adults, in partnership with families and communities. 

Since its founding in the old hotel on Plymouth Avenue in 1954, PCYC has “been there” for kids.  Today, more than 6,000 young people learn, grow and explore yearly, in the company of caring staff and volunteers.


On August 9th we will be helping PCYC get ready for the upcoming school year and fall programs by assisting them with various projects like cleaning, painting, grounds clean up and more!

You will get dirty so dress appropriately!

For July’s Love Minneapolis we partnered with The PEACE Foundation to do a Voter Registration drive in north Minneapolis. We had close to 60 people join up with us as we spent a few hours walking around our neighborhoods inviting people who were not already registered to register for the fall elections.

It was a beautiful day and I think everybody had a great time! People enjoyed walking through the neighborhoods, meeting new people and spending time with fellow volunteers.

We also learned that it takes on average 10-15 touches for a non - regular voter to get out to the polls, so we’re excited that The PEACE Foundation will continue the relationships by following up with newly registered voters many times between now and November!
